The Battery survived SuperStorm Sandy’s 14-foot tidal surge. The park’s 1,500 feet of seawall is the city’s first line of defense. In 2019 The Battery assumes a formal role in resilience planning. Partnering with government and architects, engineers, and water management experts, together we will build a strong, sustainable tip of Lower Manhattan.
