Flower Council of Holland at the Battery

The Battery has been extra green this season, with blossoms abounding not only in the park, but also with blooms at the Conservancy's Spring Gala and 09.09.09 Battery Gardeners' Luncheon so generously donated by the Flower Council of Holland.

  • On June 9th, the Gala’s banquet-style tent erected on the waterfront promenade was aglow in orange, and our tables were adorned with an exquisite parade of flowers -- festive bouquets of orange tulips, copper roses, white hydrangeas and sandersonias. Photo by Richard Koek

  • The Flower Council of Holland made a stunning impression on 09.09.09, as we celebrated the unveiling of New Amsterdam Pavilion and the Battery Gardeners' Luncheon. This historic day required room for advance floral preparation, made possible by Brookfield Properties' donation of office space in the Concourse Level of One New York Plaza. In the days leading up to the event, visitors to the building were able to view the impressive creation of the flower dresses, which were modeled during the pavilion unveiling ceremony, as well as the elaborate assemblage of towering luncheon table bouquets.
